This case study from Intershop features Galatea, Scandinavia's leading alcoholic beverage wholesaler. Galatea's extensive selection includes more than 1,000 different beers, wines, and spirits from around the world. Their main customers are B2B buyers from the horeca sector (hotels, restaurants, cafes), as well as the company "Systembolaget", which has the exclusive right to sell alcoholic beverages directly to consumers in Sweden.

Galatea faced challenges with its ecommerce platform, which was outdated and lacked flexibility, scalability, and user-friendly features. A powerful digital B2B sales channel was needed for a digital transformation of their business model.

To address these, Galatea partnered with Intershop to revamp their online store by implementing powerful out-of-the-box B2B functionalities and convenient self-service tools. Intershop also set up a sub-channel and Galatea managed it centrally using the Intershop Commerce Platform of the parent company Martin & Servera to roll out the updated website quickly and effectively.

As a result, Galatea experienced significant improvements in online sales and customer engagement. Galatea was delighted to be able to implement and manage additional sales channels easily with the Intershop Commerce Platform. Thanks to the digital transformation, their initial investment has paid off twice.
