Phane Mane Appointed Global Chairman of the B2B AI Council

The B2B eCommerce Association is proud to announce the appointment of Phane Mane as Global Chairman of the newly established AI Council. This initiative is designed to help leaders apply AI responsibly and effectively across complex B2B environments.

As AI gains momentum across every layer of digital commerce, the B2B eCommerce Association recognized the need for focused leadership to support its community in navigating both the challenges and the potential of this rapidly evolving space. The appointment of Phane Mane brings more than just leadership. It brings deep, real-world expertise and a practitioner’s mindset to the work ahead.

A Leader Grounded in Experience

Phane brings over two decades of experience across digital commerce, enterprise architecture, and AI product delivery. His career spans North America, EMEA, APAC, and Latin America, with leadership roles in both public and private sector initiatives.

He is best known for leading the greenfield architecture and implementation of Boston Scientific’s global B2B eCommerce platform. The platform was deployed during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring continued access to critical medical products when traditional sales channels were under significant pressure. It stands as a model of resilient and scalable digital infrastructure at enterprise level.

Currently, Phane serves as Global Lead for AI Product Delivery, overseeing the development and delivery of enterprise-scale AI solutions. His work emphasizes outcome-driven AI that supports measurable business value, while prioritizing governance, transparency, and customer trust.

Turning AI from Concept to Capability

As Chairman of the AI Council, Phane will lead the Association’s efforts to translate artificial intelligence from an abstract concept into practical capability. He will collaborate with industry leaders, researchers, and practitioners to publish guidance on:

• AI-enhanced product discovery and search
• Personalization and recommendation systems
• Secure digital supply chains
• Governance and data stewardship in regulated industries
• Change management and enterprise readiness

Phane is a frequent speaker, advisor, and contributor in industry forums. He is widely recognized for his ability to simplify complex ideas and ground AI in the specific realities of B2B environments, such as contract pricing, distributor models, and regulatory requirements.
